Ph.D. in Economics
Rice University
Hello and welcome to my webpage.
I am a Ph.D. in Economics from Rice University, working now in economic consulting.
My research interests relate to Energy Economics and Empirical Industrial Organization. My recent work analyzes auction design, where I carefully consider a country's broader fiscal and contractual framework. I study how this latter framework affects investments, government revenues, and the execution of energy projects. I have also studied the effects of regulations on maritime transportation and the role of National Oil Companies in the upstream oil and gas sector.
My professional experience includes directing the Center of Energy and Environment at IESA (Venezuela), consulting work related to the energy sector, as well as teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in Venezuela.
